I think I have said before that I don’t really decorate for holidays/seasons. Well, I am realizing that might not be entirely true. I think it’s more like you will not see brightly colored, gaudy, bought-from-Oriental-Trading type of decorations. But when I found these eggs at Target in the dollar spot I loved their suggestion of Spring and Easter without screaming it in your face.
I cut off the lil’ jute ties from the tops and piled them into the cloche, upside down. I wrapped the rafia up and placed it on top of the eggs, flipping the cloche right-side up. It looks great! The dark warm wood of the base brings out the brown specks in the eggs.
Plus, I’m into the bird decor still, so the eggs go with the general vibe. The warm, soft green and brown of the eggs jive out the rustic, vintage feel of our home decor.
You know what, I am embracing the holiday-themed decor concept. It is just a few accents– nothing crazy. For me, it is key that it doesn’t stand out from the rest of the decor, but rather has a similar scheme.
What about you? How do you do holiday decor in your home?
