A Pair of Curvy Ladies

Hey there! How was your long weekend? Mine was fantastic! The hubs and I mostly did a lot around the house- he trimmed bushes and dug up yucky plants while I painted furniture, painted furniture, and painted some other stuff. Can’t wait to share some of the awesome stuff I’ve been up to!

But today I am sharing about our new end tables. I am in love.

My husband is so fantastic. I mean as soon as I saw these, I said, “I have to have them.” And he got them for me. We had to haggle at a garage sale, leave, and then come back to haggle some more, but I got them. And they are staying. You know, at least for now. That’s how it goes.

photo 1 (16)These ladies are classy. Curves, metal meshwork… I mean, can it get any better? Yes, it can. With some Annie Sloan Old White.

IMG_8659I timed my painting well so that I could wet distress just a few hours later. I so wanted to make the pretty details to stand out.

IMG_8682So I replaced the Henredon end table and a similar-but-not-as-pretty mid-century white step table with these. I like the more simplified look in the room. The Henredon table, while beautiful, added too much pastel to the room. Remember, the fireplace wall is mint. Didn’t want to feel like I was in an Easter egg.

IMG_8679I am a bigger fan of the classic white look for this casual, coastal-inspired room. Which reminds me, I need to share what we brought back from our Destin vaca! Be looking for that soon.

Anyways, in case you can’t tell, I am in love with these tables.

What do you think of them? Are you a classic white fan? Do you like the mid-century step tables?
