Showing Off My Sister-In-Law

Two wonderful years ago, I finally got a sister! My younger brother married a fabulous gal, Diana. My hubby and I love spending time with them because we have so much in common- they are both pastors, we love the same music, movies, and tv shows, and we love dogs (although theirs could fit in ours’ mouths).

Another awesome similarity Diana and I share is that we both love our homes and making them look lovely. We are constantly texting each other things we find at TJ Maxx or Ikea. And we love to share what we are doing in our homes- from buying new rugs (she just got an awesome one) to the adventures in our kitchen makeover.

Recently she started using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. My heart is happy. She really has a talent and has transformed some great stuff!

She dry-brushed ASCP in Duck Egg on an ordinary clock. clockDSC_0602No distressing, no waxing, just 2 light coats of paint! What a difference!

She also used Duck Egg to change this dated lamp into something pretty! What a great idea!

And the best yet… she transformed her beautiful, wooden guest room furniture with ASCP in Pure White! DSC_0489

She did a great job!

I hope this provides even more inspiration for the many things chalk paint can do! Remember that you don’t need to sand or prime before painting, and you can paint over almost ANY surface!! Check out my Furniture Tutorials page here or the gallery of past projects on the Store page here for tips and ideas!

What do you think of her transformations? Which is your favorite? Have you done any great chalk paint projects lately?

  1. It warms a mom’s heart to know you two are so close!
I like the transformation of all the pieces but especially the dresser. I also like how she uses photos of them to create a loving atmosphere, also similar to how you decorate!
