When we first got married we had two end tables similar to this- with the “step” look as I call it. I wasn’t crazy about them at the time. But last summer I found these lovelies and my love for them has been restored. So when I saw this guy recently I snatched it up. This style of end table provides great space and function. Plus the hardware was beautiful. I couldn’t wait to try out Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Aubusson Blue and went for it on this piece. I loved it. At first it seemed a little more teal than I wanted. But once I distressed and waxed it the blue deepened. It still has a teal hue to it though, like a peacock color. I kept the hardware as-is since it’s a pretty brass with patina that really pops against the blue. The hubs and I seriously talked about keeping this one. It’s so pretty. But it’s not right for our home right now and so it’s in the booth. And I bet it won’t be there long. What do you think of this end table? Are you a fan of retro end tables?
