Paint Is Like Makeup

Nothing transforms quite like paint. It’s like putting on makeup. It hides flaws and highlights the best features. I’m a makeup wearer. It’s amazing the transformation a little eyeliner and mascara makes. Huge. Suddenly your eye pop. You look more awake, more put-together. Well think of paint as makeup for tired, worn-out, sleep-deprived, has-crow’s-feet furniture. IMG_0794 It works miracles. Even the simplest dresser in a not-so-awesome wood hue with hardware that almost blends in and doesn’t match can look great again. IMG_1015 ASCP Duck Egg does a wonderful job of covering the wood and giving it a fresh look. IMG_1019 Hardware all in the same ORB color makes the piece look pulled-together. IMG_1020 And suddenly, it’s come to life again! Some great eyeshadow (paint), eyeliner (distressing), and mascara (hardware) went a long way to make this piece look fantastic again. Now you are drawn to what is accented- the distressing and hardware- instead of the red hue with mis-matched hardware. What do you think of this transformation?
