Dining Table in Picket Fence

While preparing for the Holiday Open House at BrickCity, I knew I wanted to bring this dining table in the space.

I have lots of beautiful dishes (silver plated chargers and casserole dishes, antique china) I wanted to display by setting a table.

This table was the perfect match. It has great turned wood legs that I couldn’t wait to distress. And it has two leaves that allow me to make it smaller for the booth.

I decided to go light and bright- and so painted this pretty in two coats of Picket Fence.

After painting I waxed all over with Trewax. Then I distressed with a sanding sponge.

I wanted to really bring depth to the piece and give it patina. So I mixed up some dark wax (like I did here) and rubbed it all over, especially in the curves of the legs.

I love how it took this piece from plain to gorgeous.

I love that the dark wax gives it so much life! It looks like a well-loved family piece.

In the booth I loaded her up with a lovely printed burlap runner and tons of pretty dishes!

She is ready to be a stunner!

What do you think of the table? Are you getting ready for the holidays?

This table is available at BrickCity Emporium for $150.
