It’s been a while since I have shared our weekend finds…
But this was an eventful shopping weekend, one worth sharing for sure.
For starters, we found this gorgeous maple mid century American hutch. It was made in 1961 and is in great condition.
Yes, I am a fan of mid century furniture. My style has been evolving lately. I think more than anything I realize you don’t have to decorate in one “genre.” In fact, that can look so stale. I am still a fan of distressed and primitive pieces, but can’t wait to work this beauty into our home.
Yup, she’s staying. Our beautiful green hutch will be headed to the booth. Now I don’t have to paint it (since it is a similar color to our newly-painted dining room walls)!
We also bought a few other pieces to sell at the booth, unpainted.
Just like it may be a surprise that I like mid century furniture, I also like unpainted furniture. If a piece is in excellent condition and is high quality, I’m not going to paint just because.
Like this beautiful secretary. Cherry wood and lovely.
This buffet is just stunning. It’s a more modern piece with a slight traditional feel.
I love these vintage Hollywood style nesting tables. A new coat of gold spray paint and they will look beautiful
And finally, this dresser. My jaw dropped when I saw this.
I love the tigerwood, the marble top, and the original mirror. It’s in fantastic condition and OLD.
None of these will be painted, unless someone wants a custom piece! I love seeing quality wood stand the test of time.
I did however paint a lovely dresser this weekend in what is hopefully a new chalk paint color! :) Stay tuned for a reveal soon!

You are right; some things are too beautiful to paint, to cover up fine qualities. Nice pieces!
