Console Table in Picket Fence

I recently painted a custom console table (post coming soon) and was so please with the result I decided it was finally time for me to tackle our own entryway console table.

The original dark tone of the wood was pretty but it was pretty scuffed up and blended into the floor. It just wasn’t interesting or eye catching. That needed to change.

I gave it three coats of our chalk paint in Picket Fence and decided not to distress since it is a more modern table with clean lines (see more about when to distress here).

I finished it with Pure Earth Paint’s Diamond Coat in Satin. My friend sells their products and I decided to try it out. I like how clear it is and that it was relatively easy to apply. However, I did not like how much more expensive and how drippy it was. It was like applying Polycrylic so you have to watch for drips.

It gave a great result though!

It brightens up the foyer and looks so much better! I don’t go with a no-distress route often but I think it was definitely the right choice in this case. I love the new look! It’s amazing how a few coats of paint can change the look of a room!

What do you think of our newly-painted console table? My chalk paint is for sale at BrickCity Emporium in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
