Top Blog Posts of 2014

Hi there! We are still enjoying our vacation in California. The weather has been pretty much perfect, until yesterday. It’s cold and rainy now, but that’s the perfect weather to stay inside, watch Fixer Upper, and just veg.

2014 has been an epic year for the blog. There were more posts and more visitors than ever before, and I have YOU to thank for that. You make it so enjoyable for me to share our home and furniture ventures.

Our kitchen makeover was popular, which is awesome since we are very fond of it!

First we did an inexpensive countertop treatment over our laminate which gave it the look of high-end soapstone.

After doing a subway tile backsplash we transformed our kitchen cabinets with white paint:

Hutches were popular this year around here and this one was featured on Thrifty Decor Chick’s site:

This hutch got a total makeover with new paint and chicken wire in the doors.

duck egg hutch chicken wire hutchThe final post is another lovely furniture one, one of my favorites ever. I showed (here) how to use chalk paint, which is typically used for a shabby chic or primitive look, to give a pair of mid century nightstands a paint job true to their era.
