DIY Campaign Dresser

I have been swooning over campaign dressers. You know. The metal corners. The brass hardware. The clean lines. I love them. Like this incredible one from Sarah M Dorsey Designs:

But they are hard to find. So after Pinning several about how to make your own, I decided to jump in.

I had a basic Ikea dresser and just knew it would look great with a coat of paint and the campaign look.

I picked up these L-brackets (about $2.50 for a set of 4) for the corners.

I started by using a tiny dill bit to make holes for the L-brackets.

Then I painted the dresser in Pike Avenue and sealed with TreWax. I chose Pike Avenue because it is such a pretty grey and can totally look modern. And I knew the gold would look incredible with it.

After I secured all the L-brackets using a power drill.

Ta-da! My own campaign dresser.

I love the L-brackets. So sleek. It makes a plain dresser look so fun and interesting.

I had actually bought modern gold hardware drawer pulls (Martha Stewart from Home Depot) for the dresser but for the life of me could not find them. I seriously looked for days. After I photographed the dresser I found them. Whew. I put them on but didn’t get an awesome staged, natural light pic. This is a shadowy cell phone pic, but here it is all finished!

So what do you think of my campaign dresser? Are you loving the look as well?
